The WSDP celebrated annually on September 10, is organised by the International Association for Suicide Prevention and endorsed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and represents a global commitment to focus attention on suicide prevention. This year's event is celebrated on the theme "creating hope through action" and reflects the need for collective action to address this urgent public health issue. Mr Osei expressed concern about rising cases of attempted suicide in the municipality as they recorded 11 cases this year. "Parasuiciders are likely to repeat within 10 years," he said, adding suicide prevention was possible and appealed to the public to support people with mental illnesses to access medication.

During a swoop on Friday dawn, the Ghana Immigration Service followed up on a n intelligence that took them to the location, from where the illegal residents were picked up. “We received intel days ago that there were some undocumented migrants around East Legon hills. “If this landlady had gone by the dictates of the law, she would not find herself wanting,” he said.

According to him, it is shameful for anyone to tag only English speakers with literacy considering literacy takes into consideration every language. “Literacy is the ability to read and write a language or languages, and all languages can be factored into that definition. If you look at it like that, if someone can read and write any of the Ghanaian languages, that person is a literate in that specific Ghanaian language. We have some people who are literates in English but illiterate in their own Ghanaian languages but that’s a shame,” he said. So they are literate in English but illiterate in their languages and they are not bothered about it.

The deceased, identified as Daniel Anane Wadie per an Adomonline report, died at the university’s hospital where he was being treated for an undisclosed ailment on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Daniel’s final message he reportedly posted on his WhatsApp status has drawn somewhat confusion. According to the Adomonline report, his status read,“When my body is gone, remember my heart.”He was said to be a member of the University of Ghana Parliament House. Reacting to his demise on social media, some of Daniel Wadie’s colleagues mourned him with the #RIPVandalDanny and #LegonIsRed. A candlelight vigil was also held in his honour on Friday, September 10, on the school campus.

A friend of the deceased has given details on the death of Sani Majeed. According to Benjamin Oppong, though the late Sani Majeed was noted for being a master in the game, he was supposed to have taken a break after trying the backflips 5 times. Speaking on Adom FM’s Midday News Friday, Benjamin Oppong, said his friend did not rest before jumping the last round that led to his demise. Abdul Majeed Sani suffered a spine severe injury after the unfortunate incident. He was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he died few days after admission.
