The mother of the Vice President passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, after a short illness. In a statement copied to GhanaWeb, the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council described the death of Hajia Bawumia as a big loss to the country. "On behalf of the President and members of the National Executive Council of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), we convey our deepest condolences to the Vice-President, the children, family and the New Patriotic Party in this most difficult time. This loss is not only to the Bawumia family but to Ghana as a country and it is our prayer that the Lord will strengthen and comfort the bereaved family in this most difficult time. Harivansh Narayan Singh, the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, which is the Upper House of Indian’s Parliament, led his team to the meeting with Ghana. International parliamentary work he said is one area that India will want partnership with Ghana, hence his request for Ghana to support India’s bid for the chairmanship of the CPA. Mr Osei-Owusu traced the strong relations between Ghana and India to the pre-independence era, when President Nkrumah and President Nehru, both former presidents of Ghana and India respectively had a close collaboration. Mr Osei-Owusu pledged that Ghana’s Parliament will discuss Indian’s interest in the CPA chairmanship and determine how the two countries can continue to collaborate within the CPA. The Ghanaian parliamentary delegation, which has since returned home, had earlier met with delegations from Zimbabwe and Hungary.

While that usual process has been done, our checks say the Finance Ministry has yet to respond to the request of the Sports Ministry. PUMA first entered into a sponsorship deal with the Ghana Football Association in 2005 and have remained proud of the African side since the agreement was signed in Accra. The German kit manufacturers are the official supplier of equipment to all the senior national side of the Ghana Football Association but some of the kits are used for all the other teams including the women’s national sides.

Authorities said even though only one classroom is visibly affected, the rest of the building leaks whenever it rains. The cost of renovation of the entire building according to the school authorities has been estimated to be about Gh¢ 21,300.00. Mr. Sylvester Kpiebaya, the PTA chairman of the school indicated that the situation is affecting academic activities in the school.
