‘German Burger’ committs suicide after killing mother-in-law

2021 WASSCE Begins

The Upper West Region had the lowest representation with 9,338 candidates. The examination, which commenced with Project Work for Visual Arts candidates, is expected to come to an end on Friday, October 8, 2021. Candidates will write the English language (oral) paper on Wednesday, September 2, 2021, while the English language Essay and objective papers would be written on Monday, September 13, 2021. Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, wished the 2021 candidates success in their examinations, saying “I wish to see you excel after your hard work over the past three years”.

GNAT threatens withdrawal of services over continuous attacks on teachers
The move, according to the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), is in solidarity with victims of several attacks on teachers in the Manya Krobo area and the country, with recent incidents being reported in two schools in the former. The recent attacks on teachers in the two schools, he said were not the first in the schools in question as similar attacks were recorded in the past. To curb future incidents of this nature, the municipal GNAT chairman said engagements were held with the Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) and other stakeholders. The GNAT chairman who blamed the situation on “child rights” said restrictions on disciplinary measures against students and pupils was partly to blame for the impunity. According to him, GNAT is pushing through to ensure that the Teachers’ Compensation Act to compensate teachers who fall victim is passed.

About 100,000 people to receive Johnson & Johnson Vaccine in Accra

Ghana on August 7 took delivery of 177,600 doses of the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine procured under the Africa Union‘s African Vaccine Acquisition Trust (AVAT) bringing to 1,515,450 the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses received in the country. The Johnson and Johnson is a single-shot vaccine, it is easier and cheaper to administer, the vaccine has a long shelf-life and favourable storage conditions, and the vaccine is partly manufactured on the African continent, with fill-finish activities taking place in South Africa.

Fixing the country movement to propagate good works of Akufo-Addo nationwide
