Business News of Sunday, 1 March 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comAbraham Koomson, Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), has called on President John Dramani Mahama to consider replacing the Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Adam Mutawakilu, amid ongoing water supply challenges. Speaking in an interview with Ahotor FM and monitored by GhanaWeb Business, Koomson argued that unreliable water supply undermines productivity and poses a direct threat to the government’s flagship 24-hour economy initiative. “If the Managing Director is not meeting his target, then he should be changed because we no longer want to hear that the pipes are destroyed,” he said. Mutawakilu, appointed in early 2025, has faced mounting criticism as water shortages continue to affect Accra and other parts of the country. While he has attributed the crisis to operational and supply constraints, Koomson insists that excuses are no longer acceptable.
