Supported by continued recovery in agriculture, remittances, and investment, Somalia economic growth in 2024 is expected to improve by around one percent compared to the previous year, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Remittance inflows are expected to improve in the context of moderating global inflation and an upgrade of the global growth outlook. Near-term risks include climate shocks, security risks in Somalia and the region, and lower global growth,” IMF said. During the meeting, the IMF team has reached a staff-level agreement on the first review under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement. ADDIS ABABA, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified its priorities for Ethiopia during 2024 and 2025 amid "ever-increasing needs and decreased funding." It said food insecurity due to lost harvest and livestock is aggravating already high malnutrition rates, negatively impacting morbidity and mortality. The WHO said in an environment with "ever-increasing needs and decreased funding," it has identified priorities for 2024 and 2025, which include strengthening advocacy for longer-term development funding to address root causes of recurrent disease outbreaks, while also advocating for increased access to quality health services. As part of its priority of advocating for increased access to quality health services, the WHO said it will focus on sexual and reproductive health services, the inclusion of people with disabilities, older people, and people living with HIV, as well as addressing remote populations through the inclusion of mobile health teams. The WHO said it is closely collaborating with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health to prepare for, prevent, and respond to public health emergencies by mobilizing resources to enable health partners to provide life-saving health services to vulnerable populations.

His time as prime minister wascharacterized by a willingness to tackle challenging issues. One of Mulroney’s most notable accomplishments was signing the Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement (CUSFTA) and later the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Brian Mulroney once remarked, “If your only objective is to be popular, you’re going to be popular, but you will be known as the Prime Minister who achieved nothing.” Despite losing political popularity and the 1993 election, Mulroney accomplished much during his tenure as Prime Minister.
