According to Ethiopian farmers, cluster farming has improved living conditions and raised food security by dramatically increasing harvests. Ethiopia has created cluster farming development programmes in recent years. These programmes organise and unite farmers in a certain geographic area based on how close their agricultural plots are to one another, with the goal of fostering economies of scale and synergies. It was discovered that these farming techniques enhanced food security and enabled small farmers to grow more wheat, barley, and other food crops. The source claims that 353,000 hectares of land have been farmed thus far.

Despite significant improvements in the human rights situation in Tigray following the cessation of hostilities agreement in late 2022, the report cites that Ethiopia continued to face a “challenging” human rights situation in 2023, with Amhara and Oromia most affected by violent clashes and conflicts. The report reveals that 740 people in the Amhara region and 366 in Oromia were killed across 160 incidents in 2023. OHCHR also documented nine incidents that caused the forced or arbitrary displacement of close to 43,000 victims in 2023. The report urged the Fano militia to seek to engage in a meaningful political process towards resolution of the conflict.
