British-Bangladeshi among four killed in Manchester road accident
Three teenagers, including a British-Bangladeshi, and an elderly taxi driver were killed in a road accident in Bolton, Manchester, in the United Kingdom. The Bolton Council of Mosques (BCoM) has confirmed the identities of the deceased. The other victim was taxi driver Mosrab Ali, who was in his fifties. Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an investigation into the incident. Bolton Council councillor Ayyub Patel described the incident as a huge loss for the entire community and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

Memorial meeting for Khaleda Zia to be held in Washington Monday
A memorial meeting in memory of Begum Khaleda Zia, the first female prime minister of Bangladesh and a key architect of the country's democracy, will be held in Washington DC on Monday. The program is scheduled to take place at the National Press Club. Washington-based diplomats, senior US government officials, policymakers and media representatives are expected to attend the event. The event will be organised by Washington National Press Club member and Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey, who previously served as Assistant Press Secretary to Begum Khaleda Zia from 2001 to 2006 during her tenure as prime minister. The event will commemorate Begum Khaleda Zia's political life, her role in the restoration and consolidation of democracy, and her significant contributions to the history of Bangladesh with due respect and dignity.

Powell said the bank received grand jury subpoenas on Friday related to his Senate testimony in June, which had been about a major renovation project of Federal Reserve office buildings. Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul and Taipei climbed, tracking Wall Street's record close Friday. He also said that the Islamic republic's leadership had called seeking "to negotiate" and that a meeting was being set up.

Throat-slit teen found in Banasree home
Police have recovered the body of a 17-year-old schoolgirl from her home in South Banasree, with her throat slit. The teenager, identified as Fatema Akter Nili, is a 10th grader at Radiant School. Khilgaon Police chief Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said the body was recovered from a house named Pritam Villa at Block L of South Banasree on Saturday. An officer said, “The girl’s father Sajeeb Mia owns a hotel, and a young man who worked there entered the house to have lunch at the time. He is the key suspect.”CCTV footage from the house and surrounding areas is being reviewed, he added.

Sharf Uddin made the remarks in an interview with Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) on Sunday. Regarding the preparations, the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner said inspection of polling centres is underway to assess their condition. Regarding law and order, Sharf Uddin said he does not see major challenges in Dhaka city.
