In contrast, a seven-year non-call four from Petrobras Argentina proved popular among accounts who liked the US$500 million benchmark size. At that level, Petrobras Argentina is pricing near flat to YPF’s curve where, according to Thomson Reuters data, the 2024s and 2025s are trading at around 7.20 percent and 7.55 percent. Banco Galicia, rated B3/B-, tested the waters with a US$250m 10-year non-call five — the country's first-ever Basel III compliant, Tier 2 bond. Proceeds from yesterday’s bond will help Petrobras Argentina fund a tender for existing 2017s, whose change of control clause will be triggered on the back of Pampa Energia's acquisition.

Friday, July 15, 2016 Thousands protest rate hikes across countryA woman with a banner saying “no to the rate hikes” and “goodbye Aranguren” is pictured in yesterday’s protest. President Mauricio Macri faced yesterday the largest demonstrations against his administration yet, as sizeable crowds gathered in dozens of public squares and intersections decrying the steep rate hikes instituted by the government over the last few months. “In some regions with terrible temperature conditions there were hikes of up to a thousand percent,” he said. But Aranguren still has the backing of the president, and changes in the cabinet are not seen as likely in the short term. No single massive crowd was seen in the streets as in the country’s most historic political protests of the past, but overall thousands gathered in a more sparsely fashion across different local hubs.

Friday, July 15, 2016 Brazil deputies pick Temer ally as speakerLawmaker Rodrigo Maia (centre) reacts after being elected as the speaker of Brazil’s Lower House in the National Congress in Brasilia, yesterday. Some might be unpopular in the short run, but with these (measures) Brazil can be better within five years,” Maia said. Within the party, Maia rose by strongly advocating for and winning a party re-branding. Congressional support for unpopular measures such as pension reform, which requires a super majority of 308 representatives to amend the Constitution, remains uncertain. Maia won 285 votes against 170 for Rogério Rosso, who is closer to Temer and to disgraced former speaker Eduardo Cunha.

Since Israel came under increased international pressure in the 1990s to stop establishing new settlements, about 100 officially unauthorized outposts have been founded in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. In that time, Shiloh outposts have become ringed with “circles of violence,” said Yesh Din spokesman Gilad Grossman. But for Palestinians — who face an Israeli bid to confiscate hundreds of acres near Shiloh outposts, Yesh Din says — the appearance of a lone trailer is ominous. Thursday, July 14, 2016 Officially unauthorized outpostsPalestinian farmer Rabah Ali, 49, stands in front of a dead horse he said was dumped on his land by settlers of Adi Ad, an unauthorized outpost behind him that is seeking legal status. Esh Kodesh is one of five outposts seeking Israeli recognition as neighbourhoods of the authorized settlement of Shiloh, Katsof said.

Thursday, July 14, 2016 Second half or extra time? As a beacon of optimism, the “second half” already seems to be over before mid-July and just a couple of days after the Bicentennial weekend. Not the ideal start for a “second half” which was supposed to have inflation trending downward to and below a monthly two percent. Plenty of gloom and doom, then, to suggest that the “second half” is over before it has begun but perhaps we should wait until the second half of the year after all — these next six months are sure to be a failure when measured against the expectations of the first half of 2016 but could end up looking quite good when compared to the current mood. It was always assumed that industrial take-off would have to await the advent of investment (in the “second half” at the earliest and probably beyond) but from the moment Macri came to office, both sides of the trade ledger were supposed to expand.

Thursday, July 14, 2016 Women take centre stage in British politicsBy Stephanie BakerBloombergAfter male politicians led the UK into “Brexit,” women are taking centre stage to clean up the mess. Theresa May haso become the UK’s second female prime minister and promised to take Britain out of the European Union. For the Labour opposition the figure is 43 percent, in part because the party has fielded only women candidates in some constituencies. In the private sector, there are six female chief executive officers at FTSE-100 companies and women hold 26 percent of board seats. Despite May’s success and the campaigning to get more female politicians selected, almost 26 years after Margaret Thatcher quit as PM women make up only 21 percent of Conservative parliament members.

Gabriel: We want people to know about the cultures that live on the other side of silence. It’s a lot of work, and our main goal is to show how eroticism finds expressions in different cultures throughout the centuries. In our culture, eroticism is stigmatized because it’s associated with pornography. Women are revered in every ancestral culture. In some cultures, like in the pygmies’ culture, there are specific chants for sexual initiation, for kissing and even for oral sex.
