I was 5 years old when I watched the All Blacks win the 1987 Rugby World Cup final. I’ve been lucky enough to play in a World Cup final, so I know what these girls are going through.

ANZ Bank has released research tipping that the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will have to lift the official cash rate (OCR) another 1.5% to a peak of 5%. The prospect of a higher OCR means New Zealand house prices will fall further. ANZ now forecasts “around a 18% peak-to-trough decline in house prices, or 27% when deflated by [Quarterly Employment Survey] wage growth”. ANZ also believes it will be “a line ball call” whether the economy falls into recession. While this may be true for the economy, a recession and house price crash are bad news for the Ardern Government, which will go to an election late next year seeking a third term.

Economically this country is built upon two essential pillars, stealing land from Māori and never paying it back and exploiting low wage migrant labour. Are you horrified at how addicted NZ is to a low wage economy? We are addicted to a low wage economy because 30 years of neoliberalism has gutted the union movement. What if that tsunami of inflation was distributed to the deepest, darkest most de-unionised supply chains in China and that Covid and geopolitical tensions have snapped free market just in time supply chains to just in case supply chains which sharply import inflation? What if the global supply chains that have kept the tsunami of hyper inflationary pressures away from the West have actually ruptured?

By By Hazel Osborne, Open Justice reporter of ofPhoto: 123RFA top divorce lawyer says the case of a man being ordered to pay the private school fees of his step-daughter, despite divorcing her mother and never being the girl's legal guardian, is rare but may put couples off forming a blended family. Jeremy Sutton said the Family Court decision, made by Judge Andrea Manuel last year, could be a disincentive to blended families and for step-parents forming bonds with their partner's children. This included Taylor's daughter Caitlyn*, who Sydney showered with expensive gifts including a second-hand Louis Vuitton handbag. Police were called to BNZ in Amohau St about 3.55pm on Thursday “after a man entered the property and took a group of people hostage,” says a police statement. Morrison says he had been asked to perform a karakia for bank staff at 8.30am on Monday before they returned to work.
