One week after Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio were abruptly terminated and their radio show “The OG” was canceled by Capitol Broadcasting Company’s radio division, the two have launched their own podcasting company. The OG Live Podcast Co., run by Ovies, Giglio and partner Demetri Ravanos, debuted an abbreviated version of their new show Wednesday morning. The new show, called “Ovies & Giglio” will record three times a week — on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings — and release a podcast along with content on a YouTube channel. “We’re going to try to do what we’ve been doing, only on our own,” Giglio told The News & Observer. Ovies told The News & Observer this week that he and Giglio will try to do everything they’ve been doing, just this time without the radio.

Tim Hortons increased sales by about 11 per cent to US$1.73 billion in the first quarter compared with the first quarter of 2022, when COVID-19 was still impacting traffic and sales in the food service. The pandemic-induced shift to working from home dealt a serious blow to Tim Hortons, which depended on morning commuters for a significant part of its business.

A Toronto Blue Jays fan has won a life-changing prize — if they can be found, that is. The Jays Care Foundation, which runs the team’s 50/50 prize draws, is looking for the winner of the $2.9 million prize. Jays’ fans have contributed to massive 50/50 jackpots in the past, including some of the largest in Major League Baseball (MLB) history. The complaint also points to annual company reports from 2018 through 2021 which, the suit says, failed to disclose risks related to Adidas’ partnership with Ye. Since cutting ties with Ye, Adidas has lost hundreds of millions of dollars.

As the folk music boom came to an end in the late 1960s, Lightfoot was already making his transition to pop music with ease. In 1986, he was inducted into the Canadian Recording Industry Hall of Fame, now the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
