McGee, one of the school’s college counselors, is the architect of the famous “rejection party.” To attend this party, you only need one thing — a printed letter of rejection from a college to which you applied. Bring the rejection letter, step right up to the shredder and push start. AdvertisementIn Braff’s story McGee says, “You have to print it out because there is no satisfaction in deleting an email.” After the shredder, the bonus round is an ice cream sundae, because after all, “ice cream heals all wounds.” It is a rejection party, not a wake. Harvard Business School rejected Warren Buffett, and Nobel Prize winner in medicine, Harold Varmus, was rejected by Harvard Medical School — twice. And hold on to the hurt— trust me, it will feel very good later.

Lithium, coined 'the new oil,' is shifting global markets. According to the United States Geological Survey, global consumption increased by 41 per cent from 2021 to 2022. In 2022, Canada produced an estimated 500 tonnes of lithium — an amount dwarfed by the tens of thousands of tonnes produced by global lithium powerhouses. Johnson notes that China — the world's third-largest producer of lithium — connects "the next link in the supply chain," often acting as the world's processor and manufacturer. China is also responsible for over half of the world's lithium refining.

Nabawi and her sister were among about 300 people who gathered in Richmond Hill on Mother’s Day at an outdoor event held to highlight the plight of women in Afghanistan. The Mother’s Day event specifically focused on the Hazara community, an ethno-religious minority group facing increased attacks since the Taliban took over. “We co-ordinated with other organizations to help the Hazara community because they have specific needs, as they are being discriminated against and persecuted,” said Halima Bahman, co-founder of Hazara Women organization. “They need specialized support.”Having fled the Taliban in 1998 over violent attacks against the Hazara, Bahman experienced trauma and persecution first-hand. Event volunteer Suhaila Akbarzada arrived in Canada with three children in 2017, having completed a Grade 4 level of education.

If neither candidate secures more than 50 per cent, the two will compete in a runoff vote in two weeks. Turkey’s election authority, the Supreme Electoral Board, said it was providing numbers to competing political parties “instantly” but would not make the results public until the count was completed and finalized. Earlier Sunday, Anadolu and Anka provided different partial results from the country’s presidential election, with the state-run news agency indicating Erdogan would squeak out a victory but the private agency saying the contest was headed toward a runoff. Under Erdogan, Turkey has seen the suppression of freedom of expression and assembly. In his election campaign, Erdogan used state resources and his domineering position over media to try to woo voters.

It’s weird this series has gone this deep and yet there hasn’t been much hate worked up toward the Stars’ enemy. With Seattle, Stars’ fans mostly hate their speed, efficiency and Gary Bettman’s determination to turn expansion teams into instant Cup contenders. Seattle just won a Game 7 at Colorado, which I thought was a scary proposition when this series began. Beyond that, the Stars have only lost Game 7s, and some remain brutal, even deep in the memory banks. In the first round, road teams won two out of three Game 7’s including the Kraken eliminating the defending champs.

Sensing that, Joe promptly turned his phone over so that it faced down, which worked … until his phone vibrated. Joe quickly turned the phone over to check who was calling and then hit the call-you-back-later button. Is there any reason that an email or phone call is more important than the person or group you are with? A few more job interview manners to remember:· Don’t leave people waiting in the lobby to be interviewed. · Don’t show up 20 minutes before your interview time and think you are doing the interviewer a favor.

© W̱SÁNEĆ Nation / University of Victoria Libraries Special Collections A Salish woolly dog is pictured on the East Saanich reserve, about 20 kilometres north of Victoria, in 1935. For thousands of years, the Salish woolly dog resided on B.C. Now, blankets woven from the fur of this extinct dog are on display at the Museum of North Vancouver until early July. The museum will exhibit two of these blankets alongside other woolly dog artwork by Salish artists, including Chase Gray, Sarah Jim, and Eliot White-Hill. Mother’s Day can be a difficult holiday for many people. For those who have lost their mother or child, it can be a painful reminder of their absence. Some individuals choose not to maintain contact with their mothers, and the day can remind them of her absence. She agrees with Sheldon that we can feel both grief and gratitude simultaneously and that feeling multiple emotions simultaneously is typical as humans. For those who are celebrating Mother’s Day, enjoy, and for those who may feel untethered and unsettled, know that someone is thinking of you and that you should be treated with kindness.

The CRA has sent over one million notices to Canadians it says received pandemic benefits — such as the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) — for which they weren't eligible. Have you paid back money owed for pandemic benefits, but the CRA is still sending you collection notices? In the meantime, she said, the government is still holding back her tax benefits. Thomson said his wife received notice that she owed $2,000 in CERB money she received last year. She was sent CERB money instead.
