The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will help Crédit du Maroc Bank facilitate the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), women’s entrepreneurship, and green projects with a $100 million financing package. SMEs account for over 90% of businesses and contribute more than 20% of Morocco’s GDP, the press release said, citing World Bank data. This agreement is the second partnership between Crédit du Maroc and IFC. In December 2022, the two institutions signed an agreement to set up a $50 million financing line to meet the growing demand for trade financing in the country. Over the past three fiscal years, IFC has invested and mobilized $1.3 billion, and has already committed $470 million for the current fiscal year to support sustainable economic development in Morocco.

(AP) — A federal judge in North Dakota has dismissed a lawsuit challenging the acceptance of mail-in ballots after Election Day brought by a county election official and backed by a legal group aligned with former President Donald Trump. The Declaration also reaffirmed that one of the objectives of the Marrakech meeting and its follow-up process is to strengthen South-South cooperation as a framework for African countries to benefit from synergies at the sub-regional and regional levels. The Marrakech Declaration welcomed the official announcement by five African countries of their accession to the PSI, namely Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Zambia, Togo, and Benin, bringing the number of African countries members of this initiative to 11. Malawi, Guinea-Bissau, The Gambia, and Nigeria have also expressed their intent to join the initiative soon. The Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI), launched in 2003, is a multilateral cooperation framework with the primary objective of combating the illicit trafficking of Weapons of Mass Destruction, their delivery systems, and related materials. With these new comers, the Proliferation Security Initiative against WMD currently has 111 participating states.
