Trump’s hush money sentencing is postponed indefinitely, judge says
The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial has adjourned his sentencing, which was set for next week. Judge Juan Merchan also agreed to hold off on issuing his decision on presidential immunity until after he reviews the parties’ filings. The judge did not set a new sentencing date or make any further statements about the delay. Trump’s lawyers have argued his conviction should be tossed both because of the presidential immunity decision and his return to the White House. His sentencing, originally scheduled for July, was delayed twice after the Supreme Court’s immunity decision prompted Trump’s lawyers to file a motion to vacate the conviction.

MSNBC and CNN Are Cratering, but That Might Be Bad News for Dominant Fox News

Since the election, the biggest news in the media world has been not just the continued collapse of cable television—fueled by Comcast spin-offs—but the implosion of cable news networks not named Fox News. Viewers of CNN and MSNBC, however, are turning off their screens. Both MSNBC and CNN are collapsing across the board. In the short term, Fox News benefits from the failures of MSNBC and CNN, but the long-term viability of cable news is in question.

Commentary: Biden still has time to nudge the federal budget closer to sanity
During his time in office, Biden approved more than $4 trillion of new 10-year borrowing, debt-financing everything from COVID relief to infrastructure spending to student debt cancellation. It also added to an already high and rising national debt. So too will the cost of interest paid by taxpayers on the national debt, which already exceeds spending on Medicare or national defense. Most important, Biden should use the presidential bully pulpit to make the case for paying for new priorities, reducing our debt and securing federal trust funds. We need leaders to level with the American people about the challenges ahead — challenges Biden understands well.

Steelers' George Pickens gets into it with Browns player on final play of blizzard game, held back by security
Russell Wilson was aiming for the end zone on the final play of the game, and his pass fell incomplete to give the Browns a 24-19 victory. The camera then showed Pickens being held back by two members of stadium security near the seats. One fan was even holding Pickens' arm, leading to initial speculation that Pickens was getting into it with fans. The Browns initially blew a 10-point lead, but Jameis Winston led a game-winning drive in the game's final minutes. Nick Chubb scored twice, including the game-winning touchdown, as the Browns got their third win of the season.
