Mexico’s president on Trump deportation plans: Immigrants are not ‘criminals’Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said immigrants shouldn’t be viewed as “criminals,” but declared that Mexico has a plan for an influx of returnees should President-elect Donald Trump proceed with threatened mass deportations of immigrants, many of them Mexican nationals. “We don’t agree that migrants be treated as criminals,” Sheinbaum told reporters Thursday at her regular morning news conference, in her strongest condemnation yet of Trump’s vow to implement the largest deportation in U.S. history. Jittery Mexican officials are bracing for the second term of Trump, who has vowed to unleash both record deportations and wide-ranging tariffs that could throttle Mexico’s already sluggish economy, which is heavily dependent on trade with the United States. Trump, who has denounced immigrants as “animals” and “vicious and bloodthirsty criminals” and spread debunked claims that some were eating pets, has repeatedly vowed he would launch record deportations on his first day in office, Jan. 20. For the first time in league history, the NFL is flexing a "Thursday Night Football" game. The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals were scheduled to play the Thursday night game during Week 16, but the NFL is replacing that matchup with the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers. The change is unprecedented because of how drastically different team preparation is between a Thursday and Sunday game. The Chargers will be home for the Thursday night matchup against the Broncos Dec.19. Both teams are home the prior week, potentially another reason the NFL made the schedule change.

Also, Lee's "Aunt Sandy Claus" collection will be featured during three one-hour shows she's hosting on QVC in November. After that, she'll be spending Thanksgiving in New York with her best friend Alexandra Stanton. Lee uses sour cream instead of milk or buttermilk to make her mashed potatoes, "which makes it thicker," she said. But the mashed potatoes aren't complete without the gravy, Lee pointed out. Simmer it for a long, long, long, long time – like a day – and then let it kind of sit, so you get a really beautiful flavor in your stock that you make."

“We worked with the first Trump administration, and we will work with the second. … You have to be emotionally neutral about what’s out of your control,” Haddad told a gathering of French, German and Polish experts. What do you think of Putin?” Trump asked, according to a senior German official familiar with the call. During a private meeting in Brussels this week with NATO defense ministers, Rutte urged European leaders to engage Trump. The same anxious curiosity was evident at a gathering of German security experts in Berlin.

The Minnesota Wild star was in front of the net in a game against the Montreal Canadiens Nov. 14, when a shot hit him in the groin. According to teammate Marcus Foligno, Zuccarello ruptured a testicle. “Poor guy got hit where the sun don’t shine, and it ruptured his testicle. But, to me, the way he’s come in this year and he’s played, he’s a real key guy,” head coach John Hynes said. “That being said, he’s played a long time, too.

(CNN) — Ryan Borgwardt, a Wisconsin kayaker accused of faking his own drowning and fleeing the country, is alive somewhere in Eastern Europe and has been talking to investigators, officials said. “Great news: We know that he’s alive and well,” Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll said in a news conference Thursday. Parked outside were luxury cars, including a BMW and another car with Mexican license plates. His real name, investigators say, is Cristian Fernando Gutierrez-Ochoa, and he is a son-in-law of the reputed Mexican drug lord known as El Mencho. Federal authorities arrested the purported dead man in Riverside on Tuesday, charging Gutierrez-Ochoa with international drug trafficking and money laundering offenses. Gutierrez-Ochoa allegedly kidnapped two members of the Mexican Navy around November 2021 in an attempt to secure the release of his mother-in-law, El Mencho’s wife, who had been arrested by Mexican authorities. Authorities suspect El Mencho assisted Gutierrez-Ochoa by spreading the rumor in the scheme to fake his own death.
