President-elect Donald Trump has selected Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii turned staunch Trump ally, to be the next head of the U.S. intelligence community. As director of national intelligence, she would lead 18 spy agencies and oversee a budget of $76 billion. Even as a Democrat, Gabbard drew suspicion over her foreign policy views, which diverged from many in the party. Among those who criticized Gabbard was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who described Gabbard as “the favorite of the Russians” during the Democratic primary in 2020. Shortly after leaving the Democratic party, Gabbard became a Fox News contributor.

Russian officials visited Israel on Oct. 27 to discuss the plan, according to the Israeli official. “We have taken away Hezbollah’s ability to attack us” as it could have before the war, said the military official.

Karyn Plumley Forbes of Barrington, NH, daughter of Anne (MacKenney) Plumley and the late Harold Plumley, passed away on Friday, November 8th after a long journey with cancer. A graduate of Rivier College and Franklin Pierce Law School, Karyn enjoyed the practice of law with Shaheen and Gordon Law for more than thirty years. Together, they had three beautiful daughters: Kelsey Forbes of Strafford, NH, Molly Corbett of Marblehead, MA, and Allie Duggan of Dedham, MA. The sisters, in turn, gave Karyn and Dan seven beloved grandchildren: Jake, Sophie, Henry, Claire, MacKenney, Maeve and Millie. Dan's mother Mary always referred to Karyn and Dan as soulmates, and that is how they traveled through life together up to the end.

Thousands of security personnel have been added in Paris ahead of an international soccer match between France and Israel that comes a week after violent clashes in Amsterdam targeting Israeli fans. Authorities in the French capital are deploying 4,000 police, including elite tactical officers, and 1,600 private security guards ahead of Thursday’s match at the Stade de France outside Paris. Last week, Israeli soccer fans visiting the Dutch capital were chased and beaten by crowds in what officials from both countries described as antisemitic attacks . Videos circulated online last week showing Maccabi fans pulling down a Palestinian flag and chanting anti-Arab and anti-Palestinian slogans. There were also reports of violence involving Maccabi fans.
