As A Boomer, I Don't Understand Why People Are So Scared To Say This 1 Little Word. That’s why I think people should use the word “old” in describing themselves or others over 70. I’m wiser than most people, and, yeah, I’m old! Then, perhaps, people won’t shy from the word “old.”If any generation can change the taboo around that word, it’s my own. We boomers still exert enough cultural heft to rehabilitate the word “old” and to view getting old as a privilege — not a punishment.

It was about everything I’d learned, quietly, painfully, about what it means to be a Black woman in corporate America. Because that’s when I started to understand the game I’d been playing all along. No one pulled me aside and said, “Here’s how it works for people like us.” There’s no onboarding guide for Black women in corporate spaces. I’d ask, “Is this something I did wrong, or just that I’m following the process?” Her response was always the same: “I’m not saying I believe them. I was excited to learn I had a fellow Black colleague I’d be working with.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGU.S. District Judge James Boasberg said there is cause to hold the Trump administration in criminal contempt for ignoring his orders over flights containing migrants who were sent to El Salvador. Allowing officials to “freely annul” court orders would make a “solemn mockery of the Constitution itself,” he added. He did, however, reveal that should he prosecute the officials for criminal contempt, he would take one of two paths. Federal rules for criminal procedure state that contempt proceedings can be prosecuted by an attorney for the government. As noted, the Government has widely publicized details of the flights through social media and official announcements,” Boasberg wrote.
