Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said the men were the “masterminds” behind “horrific scam centres” that used force labour in Cambodia and Myanmar to trick victims across the world. She said they were “ruining the lives of vulnerable people and buying up London homes to store their money”. Through his company, The Prince Group, Chen is said to have built casinos and compounds used as scam centres, as well as laundering the proceeds. His UK assets include a £12 million mansion near Primrose Hill, in London, and 10 Fenchurch Street, an office building in the City of London bought through one of his companies for £95 million in 2020. Both Lei and Guy are directors of the Uni More Group, a company linked to the scam network that has also been sanctioned along with the Cambodian Heng Xin Real Estate Group.

People keep saying that the world is on the brink of a stock market crash. You could lose money in sterling even if the stock price rises in the currency of origin. I wish the stock market crash would hurry up and get on with it. Ready for opportunityI wouldn’t welcome a crash, as it would dent the value of my Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP). So I’ll drip my cash into the market over the next few months, taking advantage of any dip or panic we get.

The easyJet share price is defying today’s market gloom with a jump on takeover rumours. I’ve been keeping a close eye on the easyJet (LSE: EZJ) share price for the last year, waiting for it to fly. This morning (14 October), the easyJet share price jumped more than 11% at one point. easyJet’s low market value of £3.6bn and its valuable landing slots at Gatwick, Milan, Paris and Lisbon make it a tempting target, analysts say. Ditto if we get a wider market crash.

The win saw England retain their 100 per cent record in Group K and become the FIRST nation from Europe to qualify. Already there are concerns over extreme weather, kick-off times in the early hours and eye-watering ticket prices. New Zealand became the only nation from Oceania to qualify in March, with New Caledonia progressing to the playoffs. And in Europe, Portugal look set to be among the teams joining England at the tournament. Other US grounds to be used include the Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium), Kansas City Stadium (Arrowhead Stadium), Houston Stadium (NRG Stadium), Dallas Stadium (AT&T Stadium), Boston Stadium (Gillette Stadium) and Atlanta Stadium (Mercedez-Benz Stadium).

The Times newspaper has published a feature on sake, and local supermarkets have begun selling the drink. An industry source said that "appealing directly to consumers is key" to overcoming problems such as the rising trend to drink at home following the COVID-19 pandemic and younger consumers' growing preference for low-alcohol and nonalcoholic drinks.
