Shocking absolutely nobody, the Times today revealed that Reform UK has likely ‘forgotten’ to pay VAT on its various branded tat and tickets. ‘Easy stuff’ – unless your VAT has anything to do with ReformPolitical parties don’t have to pay tax on money from donations or membership fees. However, the law requires them to pay VAT on things like merchandise and event tickets when they make more than £90k a year. Worse still, when the Times approached Reform to ask it about the missing VAT, the party didn’t bother to respond. Fortunately for Reform UK, it has plenty of practice weathering tax-avoidance scandals.

Down Detector, which tracks internet outages, said that as of 9:45 a.m. Eastern time there had been more than eight million reports related to Amazon Web Services, many from the United States and Britain. Amazon Web Services’ thousands of clients rely on it for complex, demanding, data-intensive operations, including streaming video, running web applications and storing huge amounts of digital information. The problem extends to other governments, many of which rely on such cloud services, he said. In the first half of the year, Amazon Web Services accounted for nearly 20 percent of Amazon’s sales, but about 60 percent of its operating profit. The latest outage could add urgency to demands for companies and governments to rely on cloud services in their regions.

– 2016As part of her civil suit against Maxwell, Ms Giuffre testifies that Epstein paid her 15,000 dollars (£11,180) to have sex with Andrew. Mr Rodgers said in a testimony released in August that Epstein, Andrew and the-then 17-year-old travelled to the US Virgin Islands on April 11 2001. In her posthumous memoirs, Ms Giuffre claims American broadcaster ABC did not air an interview in 2019 after the royal family “applied pressure to nix the interview”. Speaking in a documentary, Ms Giuffre claims Andrew played a “guessing game” about her age and compared her with his daughters during the alleged March 2001 encounter at Maxwell’s home. In February, court documents show Andrew and Ms Giuffre have reached a “settlement in principle” in the civil sex claim.

Pete Hegseth(AP Photo/Alex Brandon)Andrew Thornebrooke, a national security reporter at the right-leaning The Epoch Times, has resigned after the outlet agreed to the Pentagon’s new press restrictions, The New York Times reported on Sunday. The Pentagon revised its update after reporters and press groups were upset with a draft of new rules circulated last month. That draft called for reporters to get approval from Defense Department officials before publishing stories, even if they contained unclassified information. The Pentagon’s new rules do not require credentialed journalists to get approval before publishing non-public information. The Times and The Sunday Times have launched The Poppy Day Bomb, a new six-part investigative podcast exploring one of the darkest days in Northern Ireland’s history. Nearly four decades later, no one has been brought to justice, and many questions remain unanswered about what happened and why. Hosted by The Times reporter Mario Ledwith, who was born in Enniskillen, the series follows his deeply personal search for truth and understanding. Through interviews with survivors, families, republicans and former security officials, Ledwith investigates why the atrocity remains shrouded in silence. The Poppy Day Bomb is available now on all major podcast platforms.
