“The arrests were necessary to fully investigate the allegations as is routine in these types of matters. Following further investigations, officers deemed that no further action should be taken due to insufficient evidence. In relation to the police visit on 20 December, a complaint was submitted which was reviewed by our Professional Standards Department. It was deemed that the service provided by officers was appropriate.”

Harry announced, earlier this week, he had quit as patron for Sentebale, the charity he co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006, amid a boardroom battle within the organisation. The charity was set up in honour of the duke’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, to help young people and children in southern Africa, particularly those living with HIV and Aids. The Duke co-founded the charity in honour of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales (Dominic Lipinski/PA)The move came as several trustees left the organisation in a dispute with the chair of the board, Sophie Chandauka, having requested her resignation. According to The Times newspaper, the dispute among trustees and the chair arose around a decision to focus fundraising in Africa. In a separate interview on Sky News’ Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips, Dr Chandauka criticised the manner of Harry’s resignation.

The YouTube video in which this material was delivered to me, unprompted by anything I had been consciously searching, is entitled The Cumbrian Dregpike. It is striking that the kelpie was supposedly indigenous just over the border, not at all far away from its Cumbrian cousin, the dregpike. He was acquainted with the legend of the dregpike and considered writing a story about it but changed it into something else. His elder brother, trying to protect their sister, shouted repeatedly at the huge fish. After 20,000 years, the dregpike may still be present in Ullswater's dark waters, close to our paddling or swimming feet.

Jackie Spriggs, chair of governors, then told parents that ‘inflammatory and defamatory’ comments had been seen on social media. It was then that Mr Allen and Ms Levine were banned from the school for ‘casting aspersions,’ according to Mrs Spriggs. The parents then contacted the school over Sascha’s needs because she has epilepsy, is neurodivergent and registered disabled. Mr Allen has accused the school of trying to ‘silence parents’. But Mr Allen, a Times Radio producer, and Ms Levine, a television producer, both claim they didn’t step foot in the school since July.

Read our privacy policyA couple have criticised police after they were arrested for making complaints about their daughter's primary school. They told The Times they were fingerprinted and searched before being left in a police cell for eight hours. The couple said the arrest came after their nine-year-old daughter Sascha’s school, Cowley Hill Primary School, in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, raised objections over them sending multiple emails and raising criticisms on a parents’ WhatsApp group. They said this meant they were not allowed to attend Sascha’s parents’ evening or her Christmas performance. Cowley Hill Primary School told The Times: “We sought advice from the police following a high volume of direct correspondence and public social media posts from two parents, as this was becoming upsetting for staff, parents and governors.

The parents of a nine-year-old girl were arrested by police after they complained about their daughter’s primary school in a WhatsApp group. The arrest of the couple, on Jan 29, reportedly came after the school complained about Mr Allen and his partner sending numerous emails and making “disparaging” comments on a parents’ WhatsApp group. A month later, Jackie Spriggs, who chairs the governors at the school, allegedly wrote to parents saying that the school would take action against anyone who caused “disharmony”. Mr Allen said that he and his partner expressed their outrage over the warning in a private WhatsApp group. Shortly afterwards, the school reportedly banned the couple from visiting the school premises.

The parents of two young children were locked in a police cell for eleven hours after complaining on WhatsApp about the teacher recruitment process at their daughter's primary school. CCTV shows six uniformed police officers descending on their suburban home before they were led away in front of their crying daughter. Mr Allen, 50, branded the police action 'dystopian' and a 'massive overreach', and accused Cowley Hill Primary School in Borehamwood, Herts, of trying to 'silence awkward parents'. Mr Allen and Ms Levine were later banned from the school's premises for 'casting aspersions' on Mrs Spriggs. Hertfordshire County Council said Louise Thomas was appointed interim head of Cowley Hill School for one term before a proper recruitment process was carried out, adding it was 'fair, transparent and timely'.
