De Gea signed an incredible contract in September 2019, worth £375,000-a-week until 2023, which made him the best paid player in the Premier League. The Athletic report that ever since De Gea signed that contract two years ago, there have been those in the United hierarchy that have regretted the decision to offer him the deal. This will be on their minds this summer, with Pogba’s future in the balance at Old Trafford and a decision to be made on the Frenchman. The option of offering Pogba a new contract is where the De Gea regret will play a part.
