Even Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) responded with a shrug when asked about the imminent election period. Dr Zahid, who was on a one-day working visit to the state, attended a management meeting with Terengganu police and launched the Expo. Dr Ahmad Zahid also rubbished rumours that the Barisan Nasional candidate list has been leaked, saying that such talks were normal around this time. He said the Prime Minister would speak with the Barisan leadership at all states to select the perfect candidates before the list is finalised. Dr Ahmad Zahid said previously that the election could happen days after Chinese New Year and before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
