KLANG: A 32-year-old former Perodua employee pleaded not guilty to 311 charges of unauthorised access to the company's computer system. Mohamad Al-Faruq was accused of committing the offences under Section 4(1)(a) of the Computer Crime Act 1997 at the Perodua Bukit Raja branch between August 2013 and December 2016. In the first court, 96 charges were read while 93 and 122 charges were completed in the second and third courts. Clad in a pale blue long-sleeve shirt and khakhi pants, Mohamad Al-Faruq appeared calm and nodded when the charges were read to him. According to Section 4(3) of the same Act, Mohamad Al-Faruq faces up to RM150,000 in fines or a jail term not exceeding 10 years or both upon conviction.
