Members of the 11th/24th Bury Beavers and Cubs at St John and St Marks went to the town hall in an event hosted by borough mayor Sandra Walmsley. They were guided on a tour of the council chamber and mayor’s parlour, learning all about the council and its role within the community. The group were given information about the history and traditions of council and mayoralty, viewed historical artefacts - and even got to try on the mayoral robes.
