The weather office said that a severe cold wave is persistent over Panchagarh district. Meteorologist Hafizur Rahman says: "The coldest month of the year is January, during which severe cold temperatures are frequent. In regions where the cold wave is persistent, the situation may improve in 2-3 days, or it can remain the same." He also said that by Thursday there is a possibility of another major cold wave across the country.
