Kenyan promises to improve on semi’s showingKenya’s world javelin champion Julius Yego is promising a better performance than the one he posted in the semifinal after advancing to today’s (Saturday) final. According to coach Joseph Musonik, Yego was not himself during the Wednesday semis as he had a strain on his leg. In the semis, Yego started off with a 78.88m in his the first attempt before making a no throw in his second. In the final Yego will be up against Trinidad and Tobago’s Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott, who is being touted as favourite. But the 35-year-old winner of London and Beijing Games had to settle for bronze with a best throw of 64.80m.
