The work on installing new lifts at the Erode Junction has begun at long last. Two lifts and two escalators have been a long-felt need of the travelling public, especially elders and the sick. New lifts will be in place within the next two to three months, according to official sources. A month back, the work on fixing of railings on the sides of subway was carried out for the convenience of old and sick passengers. A flight of steps leads to platforms one and two and another to platforms three and four.
