The woman is Khadiza Khatun, 21, wife of Shakil Hossain. Quoting the woman, police said Shakil has been torturing Khadiza since their marriage three years ago. On Wednesday night, Shakil started beating Khadiza mercilessly saying that the day's dinner had not satisfied him. Hearing the screams of the woman, local people rushed there and took the woman to Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
