TANGAIL, Dec 26, 2025 (BSS) - A mother and her eight-month-old daughter were killed when a truck rammed into a stationary private car on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila of the district this evening. The accident took place in the Gorai area of Mirzapur upazila this evening, according to police. The deceased were identified as Sadiya Kabir, 32, wife of Jisan Kabir Tipu of Sonagazi upazila in Feni district, and their eight-month-old daughter Tajri Kabir Priyam. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gorai Highway Police Station Sarowar Alam said a private car carrying passengers was heading towards Dhaka from the northern region. The driver of the private car and two other passengers were injured in the accident and were admitted to Mirzapur Hospital for treatment.
