A 22-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was assaulted in Montreal's Ville-Marie borough early this morning. Police were called following of a man assaulting a woman on Ste-Catherine Street near Amherst at about 2 a.m. The woman suffered severe injuries to her head and face. The woman was on the ground, unconscious when police arrived, and was taken to hospital. They say they don't know the link between the man and the woman.
