Womad festival run by an all-woman team

Womad festival run by an all-woman teamANDY JACKSON/STUFF The setup for Womad 2018 is well underway with its all female management teamIt's one of New Zealand's biggest festivals and this year the brains making it happen are all owned by women. The management team for Womad in New Plymouth are Taranaki Arts Festival Trust CEO Suzanne Porter, event director Emere Wano, site operations manager Jane James, site manager Michaela Blackman, and marketing and communications manager Cleo Wood. It's an unusual outcome but it wasn't one we specifically thought 'we are going to be an all female team'," she said. Porter added the setup for this year's festival, which runs for three days from Friday, had been seamless due to the addition of Blackman as their new site manager. At 4pm on Friday Blackman will sign over to James who is site operations manager over the weekend.
