Slaughterhouse Rd has been given the axe. The Timaru District Council voted unanimously to give it the chop in favour of a new name - Old Bridge Rd - at Tuesday's council meeting. Fire and Emergency New Zealand, St John and Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) would be notified, Timaru District Council communications manager Stephen Doran said. It was Stocker who had suggested Old Bridge Rd, and had a sign made with the help of a neighbouring landowner.
