Winton Jockey Club president Howard Clarke at the Gore racecourse on Wednesday. The Winton Jockey Club is shifting its annual race day to Gore because of bad weather. The Southland Racing Club, which is the main user of the galloping track at Ascot Park, is disappointed it will not be hosting the Winton meeting. Gore racecourse manager John McKay says the Gore track had stood up well to a race meeting last Friday. The Gore Racing Club was holding its first meeting for the season with eight races.
