SEPANG: The Wildlife Conservation Act 2010, which is expected to be amended to impose harsher sentences for poachers, would be tabled in the next Parliament session, says Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim. "We expect the amendments to be tabled during the next Parliament session at the end of the year. On OBK, which involved various agencies including police and the Forestry Department, Kadir said 36 investigation papers (IPs) were opened last year. "One of the cases involved the arrests of 12 people at a wildlife conservation reserve in Krau, Pahang. Kadir urged anyone with information on crimes against wildlife to contact Perhilitan through its hotline at 1-800-88-5151 or through e-aduan at www.wildlife.gov.my.
