Dating online can sometimes feel like a sport in which everyone is playing by different rules. But if you feel that swiping or matching is the only way to meet people now, you may want to have a rethink. According to Match.com, one in five relationships begin through dating apps. Researchers are increasingly seeing “dating app fatigue” among young people, who cite dishonesty, people not looking for serious relationships and the apps being “unreal” as drawbacks. Here, five men explain why they’ve given up dating online in favour of meeting women in real life, and why they believe they’re part of a growing movement devoted to taking love offline.
