He explained that the nation cannot preempt illegal mining operators but wherever they are found, they will be dealt with according to the law. “As for illegal mining, that’s a problem because Nigeria is a very vast country. I must admit to you that we do not have the resources to preempt all these illegal activities because Nigeria is vast. We’re working with them to tighten the noose.”The minister urged Nigerians to support the government in containing the activities of illegal miners. Mr Adegbite noted that in the ministry, there is a satellite monitoring system from which illegal activities are closely watched.
