One day, the Victoria Memorial School for the Blind (VMSB) spotted Ulhas on his usual corner, hunched over shining the shoes in front of him. After months of intense training at VMSB, the day arrived for Ulhas to receive his foot massage certificate. Armed with his certificate still crisp from its printing, he went from salon to salon interviewing for foot masseur roles. But within the walls of the salon, his co-workers were blind to his value and efforts. Day in and day out, he was bending over backwards to prove himself in other people’s eyes.
