Wellington Mayor Andy Foster has lost another chief of staff, with Sarah Owen announcing she is taking up a role with the Department of Conservation. Foster announced the departure in a statement on Wednesday, saying Owen was “heading back” to the government organisation to assume the role of chief sustainability advisor. “Sarah came on board during Covid-19, during challenging times for the city and New Zealand. An internal email revealed that Guler would be replaced by Owen, who was chief of staff at Christchurch City Council during the earthquake recovery period.
