MS Dhoni isn't regarded as one of the minds to have ever played the game for nothing. During India's first T20 against England in Kanpur, Dhoni was seen predicting what Joe Root would do while facing a Yuzvendra Chahal delivery. "Ye aage nikal ke marega, tu aage hi gend rakh," shouted MSD to alert the leg spinner that Root is going to dance down the track and hit him on the next ball and hence he should bowl fuller. England showed discipline with the ball to stifle India's vaunted batting order, restricting them to a modest 147-7 at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium. The visitors then returned to overhaul their opponents' target with 11 balls to spare, with Eoin Morgan hitting a fluent 51 and Root producing a run-a-ball 46 not out.
