WTA head says French Open women's schedule 'unfair'

Women playing in the semifinals at the French Open are being treated unfairly in terms of scheduling, the WTA chief executive officer charged Thursday. The women’s semifinals were scheduled to be played on Thursday on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Rain on Wednesday washed out play, however, forcing all four semifinal matches to be contested on Friday. “We are, however, extremely disappointed by the scheduling of both women’s semifinals on outside courts. “We believe other solutions were possible which would have been to the benefit of fans as well as all players,” Simon said.
