The biggest increases were from the United States, Brazil, India and South Africa, according to a daily report. The previous WHO record for new cases was 228,102 on July 10. The novel coronavirus has so far infected 13,042,340 people worldwide on Monday, killing 571,689, pandemic data tracker website Worldometers figures show. Infections have been reported in more than 213 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019. The United States is the hardest-hit country with 137,782 deaths.
