Preston North End players Seanie Maguire and Kevin O'Connor took to the pitch of the Aviva Stadium on Sunday to celebrate with Cork City supporters after the club's penalty shootout win over Dundalk in the FAI cup final. Maguire was the League of Ireland's leading goalscorer for the 2017 season with 20 goals in 21 matches before leaving the champions for Preston in June. He was soon followed to Preston by Cork teammate Kevin O'Connor three weeks later as both players watched from the stands to see their former side complete a historic league and cup double. Before leaving Cork for Preston, Maguire thanked the club's supporters for the gratitude they showed him during his two seasons at Turner's Cross.
