A section of the Holly Hut Track will be closed until further notice after last week's heavy rain and gale force winds triggered a large, unstable slip. "We've closed this section of Holly Hut Track to protect the public. It's a large unstable slip with some very big boulders and it's not safe to cross," operations manager Gareth Hopkins said. However, there was alternative access, via the Ram Track and Kokowai Track, which would bypass the slip and reconnect trampers to the Holly Hut Track, he said.
