Judge Abdur Rahman Sarder of Dhaka’s Fourth Speedy Trial Tribunal announced the verdict on Monday. The killing stemmed from a dispute over funds for the association, according to the case dossier. The four convicts are Minhaz, Md Shaheed Mostafa, Jahidul Islam Jahid and Hasanur Rahman Rubel. Judge Abdur Rahman came down hard on Investigation Officer Nibaran Chandra Barman, a former inspector at Mirpur Police Station, for filing a chargesheet “containing errors”. He has ordered the inspector general of police and the DB joint commissioner to take necessary action against the officer.
