A vice-chairman of the BNP, Dudu was held on Monday after attending a demonstration in front of the press club, said senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. A witness said Dudu took part in a human chain protest in front of the National Press Club. “Police whisked him away and left his phone with me,” said Abdul Rajeeb, a Dhaka-based leader of BNP-affiliated the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal. The three-time premier was taken to the former Dhaka Central Jail building on Nazim Uddin Road immediately after the verdict. Monday’s protests, outside the National Press Club, was attended by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Adviser to BNP chief Zainul Abedin and Publicity Affairs Secretary Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annie.
