On Sunday, the education ministry sent a directive to authorities across the country, which ordered arrests of mobile users within 200 metres of exam centres. Despite the 30-minute instruction, it has been found some centres allowed students to sit for the exams and individuals carried smartphones near the centres. According to the regulations, only the centre secretary is allowed to use a phone with no camera. After its first meeting on Sunday, Alamgir said they have blocked 300 mobile phone connections, which had been used to circulate leaked questions. Police have launched raids to detain the owners of the mobile phone connections, he added.
