CHRISTEL YARDLEY/STUFF Stewart Gibson says people can too easily get overconfident at the beach and put themselves in danger. Flags are on Whangamata beach 10am-6pm Monday to Friday through to Easter and at the weekend there are the voluntary patrol life guards.
