Truck catches fire on main highway in South WaikatoWALDO ANDERSEN/SUPPLIED The truck caught fire just after 11am on Monday. A truck caught fire on Monday morning forcing motorists to pull over after the flames spread across the country's main arterial highway. Waldo Andersen was driving along State Highway 1, just out of Tokoroa, when he saw a truck and trailer in flames in the southbound lane. Northern fire communications shift manager Megan Ruru said two fire trucks from Tokoroa were on the scene, just after 11am. GOOGLE MAP The fire happened on State Highway 1, just north of Tokoroa.
