Commissioner Simon Upton released four proposals today to help the industry become more sustainable and urged the government to take advantage of the pause in international tourism. He wanted to see progress this calendar year, saying there was a limited window to ensuring tourism was more sustainable. "The push for more sustainable tourism when our borders re-open is gathering pace." Conservation of Conservation Minister Kiri Allan said the report acknowledged tourism needed a reset.
