Thunder Bay town hall quizzes premier on school funding, auto insurance

Meeting with several hundred voters at a town-hall meeting Wednesday night in Thunder Bay, Wynne was asked about those two long-time Ontario policy bugaboos. Ontario has no plans to end full funding for Catholic schools or launch public auto insurance, says Premier Kathleen Wynne. Wynne, a former education minister, emphasized that “constitutional rights and history” are behind the separate school funding. “We’ve been pulling on a number of levers to try to lower auto insurance rates across the province. There is more that we need to do.”However, there are no plans for a British Columbia-style public system.
