The Thrissur Pooram festival concluded on Tuesday afternoon with the ceremonial farewell ritual ‘upacharam chollippiriyal’. The idols of Paramekkavu and Thiruvambady, the main participating temples, were taken back to the respective temples after the ceremony. The last day’s festivities are called Thattakathe Pooram, means pooram for local people. As people here, especially women, will be busy on Pooram day in playing hosts, Thattakathe Pooram is supposed to entertain them. Processions carrying the idol of Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu deities were taken into Sree Vadakkunnathan temple in the morning.
